Hello all,

I ordered my iPhone 4 on the 22nd, got a "ship by 7/14"notice (not in a rush to get the phone, not wanting to wait on lines at one of the NYC stores). Anyway, I paid with my debit card and I saw on my banking online records apple did "hold" my money for the phone, plus charged 2 $1.00 charges. Couple days later the money was back available to me, and he apple info wasn't there. Can anyone explain that to me? Did apple just wanted to see if I had the cash to pay for it?

Also my order says ships by 7/14. Is that date the next "batch" of pre orders to go out?

Thanks for all the help in advance

Apple is just verifying the card is valid. It's the way CC and DC authorizations work. If the merchant doesn't submit a sales slip w/i a couple of days the hold is released. It's 100% backend and has not bearing on your order status. They will repeat every few days to confirm the card is still valid and $ is still available.
