Hey, I recently bought the new iPod Touch, but 8 gigs wasn't enough space for me so I returned it. Now I am wondering, is it worth it to buy a no-contract iPhone 4, or should I get the 32gb iPod Touch....the reason I am considering the iPhone is because of the camera....it's sooo much better than the iTouch, or so I've seen from in the store....if anyone has any insight, I'd gladly appreciate it! :apple: for lyfe!!!

I'd say iPhone 4 if you want to use the phone part as well as the other features, if you just want the iPhone 4 for the camera, stick with the iPod Touch.

Get the phone. No sense in having a phone and a touch; it's much more convenient for you to have all in one device. Less to carry around, remember, or worry about.

wow you would actually pay $599/$699 just because of the camera?

-Camera
-better battery (7h video vs 10h)
-IPS screen
-Ability to buy 3g for a week if needed
-Much more sturdy
-Higher RAM (therefore more futureproof)
- Battery can be replaced by anyone (the ipod touch's battery is put inside in such a f'ed up way I wouldn't bother with it)
- Comes with mic/change song headphones
- Comes with charger

I'm just throwing in everything I can think of :p Feel free to add more! I had this decision a while back, and I went with the third option: Get the iPhone subsidized with a retention plan :D

whats a retention plan? lol but, yea, this post pretty much made up my mind...iPhone 4....now 16 or 32 gbs!

Go with the phone. No brainer. If you have AT&T, i see no reason why you wouldn't buy the iPhone 4 rather than the touch with another phone (under normal circumstances).

If you compare iPhone 4 and iPod Touch then iPhone have better features than iPod and so you can use it like mobile phone. The phone has 5 MP, 2592 x 1944 pixels, auto-focus camera with LED flash which is also a good feature. And as you wanted larger memory then it is available in 16GB and 32GB memory option. So I suggest you to buy iPhone 4.

I ended up cancelling my 64GB iPT4 pre-order and going for a 32GB iPhone 4 instead, had it for almost a week now and I am so glad I made the switch.

Yeah, a lot of people forget to mention that the iPhone 4 has an LED flash which the iPod touch doesn't. It might not produce the BEST photos, but it allows you to take photos at night where otherwise you wouldn't be able to have a single photo. When I had the iPhone 2G and 3G it didn't bother me much, but now I realize how great it is to be able to take pictures of friends at night. It's really neat to using the Hipstamatic filters that make your photos come out interesting.

I'd go for the 32GB iPhone 4, if you can afford to. I think the extra $100 is well worth it, for double the memory.

If you don't have ATT and won't use the iPhone as a phone, what's the point of getting it? lol for that much money, you can get a bigger iPod Touch AND a camera.

Actually, I'd use Rogers Pay As You Go, because I'm in Canada.....what do you mean "a bigger iPod Touch"? If your talking about an iPad, I already have one, and it is far better than an iPod Touch!
