I'm in US and want to order an unlocked iPhone 4 from Canada Apple store online.

Can I use my US debit card to make the payment?

Some have reported success with this, when they used a debit card with a VISA logo on it, however, ymmv.

I used an international CC from Brazil to buy my Iphone 4. I live in Dallas, but I had to use a random address from US so it would match the info of my CC. It was a Visa CC.

I got this when I confirm my order:

Your payment authorization failed. Please verify your information and try again, or try another payment method.

Does this means that I cannot use my VISA Debit Card to place an order?

I'm in the US. I'm ordering the iPhone from Canada's Apple Online Store and have it shipped it to my friend's address in Canada. This cannot work?

Oh, yea that should be no issue. What about buying a prepaid credit card, have you tried that? You should be able to 'register' it under your friend's name too, that would avoid any hitches during processing.

If I get a prepaid credit card and register it under my name and address in US, it still won't work?

do i need to get a proper bank prepaid credit card, or i can get it in Walmart and Target?

You might have to call your credit card company and have them add your friends address in canada as one of your shipping addresses if they allow that.
When it probably checks the shipping address doesnt match the billing then it rejects it.
Wouldnt be easier to just have your friend buy it and ship it to you?

Why not get your friend to order it using his CC and send it out to you?

Debit card in Canada is not teh same as your Debit card in the US. Our Debit card is not attached to your Visa, it is for your bank accounts only

why apple makes things so complicated? :(

They probably dont want people ordering their iphones unlocked online thru various different online apple stores and bypassing the carrier agreements they have setup with each particular countries wireless provider.
There's still stores online that sell them though if you look hard.

do you mean Apple online stores or stores like amazon.com, mobilecity online.com, pure mobile, eBay, etc...? They are so expensive (around $1,000) and I do not know whether they are really factory unlocked phones.

could you recommend me which stores are reliable?

Yes they are expensive.
If I remember correct buy.com used to sell factory unlocked iPhones. Not sure if they got the iPhone 4 yet.
