iPhone 4 power button

I pushed the iPhone 4 power button TOO hard while applying tape to the top because the bumper button did not reach far enough toward my iPhone's power button, was wondering if there would be any damage to the specified button?
is the inside durable??

i know this is OCD, but w.e its a $780 + gas device.
i just need to ease my mind.

You pressed a button hard and you want us to tell you if it's damaged....

How hard is "too hard"?
If it is still working, I wouldnt worry about it.
