I have an iPhone 4 and have a lot of problems with the proximity sensor. My question is, if I take my iPhone to an Apple store, will they do anything? Will they replace the phone or will they just tell me it's a known issue and that they can't do anything?

Most likely they'll first ask you to do a full restore and try it out, if that doesn't work they'll replace it for you. I recommend just doing the restore and then bring it in the next day - they'll see you did the restore and most likely replace it for you. It will completely depend on the Genius though if he replaces it or not - they usually make a call with it and try it out themselves and if they can't reproduce the issue they may not replace it.
