iPhone 4 proxy sensor won't function after LCD and glass replacement

So here's what happened; I dropped my iPhone4 at work and broke the glass. I have always fixed my own phones with no problem so I decided to order the screen. I was a bit disappointed when I saw that I had to replace both the glass and the LCD together but that was alright. $40 isn't gonna kill me. I took the whole phone apart (while wearing the static discharge wristband) and replaced the glass no problem. I was pretty proud I didn't even lose a screw. The thing is that I have a stock black iPhone4 but I bought a white glass because it looks pretty sweet having a two-tone iPhone. Everything works fine except the proxy sensor. I have tried all of the resets and software trouble shooting. Anyone have any ideas? I wonder if it is because of the black/white switch...
