i bought an iphone 4 from a friend and its updated to the latest iOS and i need to unlock for tmobile

where can i get it unlocked or am i able to unlock it myself?

alright and if i get a factory unlocked one from the apple store, i will be able to update it without any problems right if i use it on tmobile?

A factory unlocked iPhone can be updated and used on any carrier with no problems.

If the phone originate from outside of the US, you might have chance of contacting carrier to get it unlock.

Apple will not unlock it for you. So does, US carrier i.e AT&T.
