iPhone 4, randomly turned off....dead?

never happened to me before, im 99% sure my battery wasnt dead, it was below 50% though. i sent a text and put it away 2 seconds later i went to check something and as im hittin the top button nothing happened.

held it and again, nothing.

i have it sitting connected to the computer but so far nothing.

Try holding the home and power button together for 15-20 seconds.

This exact thing has happened to me. The only way to get it back on is to hold the top power button and the home button down together until the apple logo appears. Don't let go until u see the apple logo. Could be 20-30 secs.

plus my phone is jailbroke and unlocked FYI

Should've mentioned that u were JB in ur original post. That makes a big difference since it is most likely what is causing ur problem. Why would u fail to mention such important info when's are seeking help!?
