Hi all, this is my first time posting in this forum. I have an iPhone 4 GSM that is stuck in a recovery loop. I can get it in and out of DFU mode. I am using a Mac.

I am trying to restore it to the latest firmware (5.0.1) but it will not restore. It runs fine until it gets to "Restoring iPhone Firmware" at about 60% along the progress bar then freezes for a good 20 mins. After that it resets itself and iTunes says it has an unknown error 1 and cannot be restored.

After much research I know that an error 1 is due to downgrading, which I am not trying to do, especially since I only have SHSH blobs for 5.0.1, which I got from TinyUmbrella. I have tried to use redsn0w but the latest version does not support this firmware yet. I have tried re-installing iTunes, downloading the firmware again, using different computers, DFU mode and rebooting the computer.

Just wondering if ANYONE out there has a similar problem to mine. Any help or advice at all would be greatly appreciated.
