I have a Verizon iPhone 4.

So I decided to jailbreak the phone about a month ago using redsn0w.

I plugged it into my computer today and inadvertently hit the upgrade to 4.2.9. I quickly pulled the cord, but now the phone is stuck in recovery mode. I can't restore through iTunes because I get the "requested build" message and I'm not really sure what to do with TinyUmbrella to make it work.

I'm kinda panicking that I may have bricked my iPhone. I thought I understood enough to jailbreak it, but now I realize I'm in over my head with the jargon and techno-saviness.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried the "fix recovery" method?

Have you tried the "fix recovery" method?

What is that method? When I plug my phone in to the computer, iTunes says it's recognizes a phone that needs to be restored and Tiny Umbrella just lists my device as a "0" with a big question mark next to it.

Like I said, I'm not exactly fluent in this kinda stuff.

Okay I attached two files. I'm going to tell you exactly what to do with them. Unzip both files. Leave both extracted folders open. Move the "zlib1.dll" file into the "fixrecovery" folder.

Edit: I don't think this will work with a Verizon iPhone.

I was able to click "fix recovery" but it didn't change anything.

Anything else?
