So I'm stumped, I am a decade+ t-mobile customer and have had jailbroken & unlocked iPhone's since apple first released the unit. After awhile I got sick of the crappy jailbreaks/unlocks etc. I just wanted to outright have a factory unlocked iPhone so I purchased an international one from canada, its worked great never a hiccup.

From what I've seen online the only way to truly be sure the iPhone is factory unlocked is by model # and inserting various sim's. However I noticed under my general>about>regulatory there's us/cnd/europe/mexico/austraila/etc,. while my wife's iphone 4 (verizon) only has the unitedstates listed in the regulatory section...

Now here's my question, how can it be that an iphone 4 with all the multiple cities listed under the regulatory be locked to at&t and have a us model #?

thanks in advance for any and all help.
