Hi All,
I recently ordered an iPhone 4 replacement screen from DirectFix.com, the install went fine except for having to leave the phone sitting unassembled while I waited for some replacement screws (I dropped one on the floor and it has been impossible to find, but as I'm typing this I remembered feeling something underfoot and what do you know - I just found it. There ya go...)
Anyway everything looked to be working fine, until I went to check my voicemail and the top ear speaker on the front of the phone was not working. The only way I can hear phone calls is to either use speaker phone or a headset.
I was just wondering if anyone else who's done a screen replacement may have come across this? I re-watched the screen reassembly directions and didn't notice any connecters that I may have missed for the top speaker. I did take the speaker grille from the old screen, not sure if it's possible that I bumped something there?
The top shield that covers the 5 ribbon cable connectors has a couple of silver prongs on the top - I wondered if those need to be on top of or underneath the metal part that sits near them? Or doesn't it matter?
Any advice would be much appreciated. I'm just waiting to hear back from Direct Fix now. I'll let you know if I learn anything.
Cheers
