I'm a little concerned about my iPhone 4. Basically, I have three/four deep scratches on the back of it, near the Apple, and a couple of light scratches here and there, back and front. I consider this 'Okay Condition'. Now, come June 2011, how much should I be able to sell this off for (Jailbroken and Unlocked), including original accessories, minus the headphones, and with a Griffin Reveal Etch case?
Also, should I be concerned with the looks or am I being overprotective?

the resale value will drop just like the past phones.. once the new one is out, this will drop to what.. like $150?

If you plan on selling it, then yes you should be concerned with the looks, but from your description it sounds pretty messed up already. And no, it won't drop to $150 right away, not even close. The 3GSs were selling for over 300 (jailbroken, unlocked) for quite a while after the ip4 came out.

I plan to sell it like a week after the new one comes out, so I'm kind of hoping for at least $450. Possible?

Why would you make such claims you know nothing about?

i got 375 for my 3GS 32GB just recently go figure

I got $360 for my 3G 8GB lol, and this was like 3 days before the new iP4 was coming out in Canada :D

Who the hell knows what an Iphone4 will sell for in 2011? It can sell for $150 or $1,000,000.00. Nobody really knows. just cause other phones did good we don't know what this one will do.

You can barely get an iPhone 2g for that price let alone a previous gen. version iPhone. What are you smoking?:confused:j/k.

It amazes me on how much an iPhone can hold so much value especially when it is unlocked. You can get more for it even after a year versus a phone that just came out. To the OP, if you are looking to sell it like I do every year, it would be best to protect it as much as possible to get the most value out of it. Since it is now all glass put a couple screen protectors on it front and back. Preserve the glass as much as possible because that is the buyer most concern about.

that is flat out nuts. whoever bought that paid entirely too much.

LOL umm my 3G SOLD FOR $200 and its barely iOS4 worthy! You know nothing sir...

...iphone 2gs are going for 25-65 on ebay. (as of 15 seconds ago)

ebay right now has higher capacity 3gs at $160. whoever is selling an 8gb 3g and getting $360 is flat out lucky.

you can believe me or not, but looking at current "ending soon" bids on ebay has more weight than select examples of "i sold my 3 year old phone for the cost of a new iphone 4" imo.

This is why I always keep mine in a case.

I know, they're PRETTY! They're (whatever dudes call them).... yeah yeah...

If you wanna sell it and recoup the cost of buying the next generation?

Keep it in a case.

There. There's my advice.

To the OP, I say....

If you think you can conjure up enough of a problem to get a refurb from Apple? Try that. I figure that from now through September 30, you probably could get a replacement handset, no questions asked.

Then... keep it in a case.

Or at least put some protectors on the glass.

You should get a good price that way.

I just sold my 3GS (pristine condition) 16gb, white iPhone for 320 bucks. And that was last week... not the week before launch. I probably could've sold it for 500 bucks then.

+1
i got 3gs couple weeks ago for 75 bucks. Just from someone i ran into at Mc Donalds. Never met or seen this person before. Unlocked and jail broken. Not stolen.

i sold my 3g (not 3GS) 8gb for 180 a few days ago. the iphone 4 will be worth way more than 150 a month or two before the new phone comes out.

How much would a iPhone 4 32Gb jailbroken and unlocked with a bumper and all original accessories and box Go for right now?

I sold my 32GB 3GS in July this year for $500 cash. So I would figure around there, I hope to get at least that much for my iPhone 4 come next year.

Where in the world did you all sell your iphone? I don't like Ebay or craiglist.

IS THERE ANY OTHER OPTIONS?

If your asking me? Because of the ridiculous high price. It was on Kijiji locally to a guy.

All i did was restore it, JB and unlock it. So he could use it with Bell.

Meet him at a Bell store, he tried out a simcard to make sure it works.. Then he handed me the $360.

Got $696 for my 32gig 3GS (J-Bkn) in mid-May on eBay. However you have to take into consideration the $75 in eBay, PayPal and shipping costs. Still not too bad.

what kind of a loser would buy a second hand, locked, one year old iphone 3gs for 696$?? :D

I sold my 32gb white iphone 3gs in april for $798 dollars and it was UNLOCKED on ebay but i threw in a case that had a battery built in with it. Thats how I got my ipad 32gb wifi + 3g
