Guys,

iPhone 4 was JB and the carrier changed with fakecarrier - the iPhone has since been restored to factory settings but the carrier is still showing the fake one, how is this restored, if possible?

Thanks
Adam

Same thing happened to me. I'd love to know which file MakeItMine or FakeCarrier edits so I can edit it myself (to restore it before restoring the iPhone).

You restored the firmware, but you also restored it as a backup, which copies back your springboard.plist file.

You can actually change this without jailbreaking. Basically follow these steps, and remove the lines that look like:

<key>SBFakeCarrier</key>
<string>YourFakeCarrierName</string>

You have to set up your iPhone as "new" to get rid of the fake carrier.

Or just rejailbreak, install makeitmine again an reset the carrier. Then erase it. If you set up as a new phone, you'll lose all your settings. Now that's a pain in THE ass.
