Earlier today when leaving work I got stuck in an elevator. I was in there for maybe 45 minutes before the elevator company came and got me out. If I didn't have my iPhone 4, I would have never made the call to the super to get someone to get me out. My older 3G never had reception in this elevator -- not even a bar. The whole thing about iPhone 4 can't make calls is a crock and this is a testament to that. Amen!

Seems like elevators have had enough of our ****.

I got out of watching Inception last night and there was a pack of people trapped in an elevator at the mall. Fire department had to come bust them out. Today at work one of our techs got stuck in an elevator in the lab.

Think twice about entering the metal boxes of death, people. Stairs are better for you anyway. :D

Are you allowed to call the police? Thats the first thing I would have done, and there are emergency buttons in almost all elevators.

If you work on the 60th floor, are you going to take the stairs (up and down) everyday?

Yea cause any other cell phone would not have worked  shew good thing you had the iPhone 4

I would have been happy if I had my iPhone and was stuck in an elevator for 45 minutes because I could watch a movie, read books, play games, listen to music, etc. while I waited to get out.

Yeah you want me to climb 60 flights of stairs every day? Try doing just 8 and get back to me.

See what happens when you hold it correctly, people?!!?!!!

He said his 3G didn't get reception in the elevator.

The 3g was never really a benchmark as far as reception. My nokia always outpreformed my the 3g in this area. The new iphone is better as long as you don't touch that spot and its almost comparable to my nokia.

Would you have been incapable of pressing the distress button or using the emergency phone without your iPhone?

Actually, the emergency button wasn't working. When I mentioned getting the fire dept. to help the super said no -- the elevator company is on the way. I took it that they didn't want the violation. Guess I'll have to let the super know that they might want to get that taken care of pronto.

In between talking to my wife who was freaking out and my also nervous nelly step mother, I played some Helsing's Fire. Great game. Multi-tasking saves the day!
