This is a 2 year old iPhone 4. I Googled this issue and only came up with problems with some 4's (not 4s) having screen discoloration because the glue used in the screen "sandwich" hadn't dried yet. This iPhone 4 was perfect until a few months ago.

It happened when I had been driving a long distance and the phone was charging, streaming Pandora while in a silicone case and in a generic stalk dock. As soon as I noticed the discoloration, which was very small at the time, I pulled it out of the case to see if it was hot and it wasn't scorching but it was warm. Just wondering if there is a certain component right behind the spot, right by the volume buttons. Take a look at the pic and tell me what you think. Also, with the 5 just coming out, is it worth it to fix? EBay screens seem to run about $100 from what I could see. I tried to get the burn in via iphone screen capture but it shows up better via a photo from my Asus tablet.

Thanks
