My B-I-L has a developer friend and got his UDID registered so he could play with iOS 5. He went through all betas fine until 5. Something got funky and his phone started acting really really weird. Then the Microphone stopped working. We both thought it was mechanical, but it's not. It would work for Facetime calls but not speakerphone or regular
After downgrading to 4.3.5 the mic still didn't work. He restored and set up as new phone and the mic started working again. Until today. He took it in to the Apple store but they didn't replace it because it's out of warranty, so they told him to just buy a Bluetooth. He did, then took it home and restored it and it starting working. Now randomly today the bluetooth stopped working. It says it's connected and he can hear them but they can't hear him. Same thing with the mic again. And then it randomly cuts in and out.
Is this a firmware issue from iOS5? Is this a hardware issue? Any clues?
