My mom recently got her iphone 4 from the AT&T store so I got a chance to play with it and help it out with the settings and stuff. It came with iOS 6 and I heard rumors that iOS 6 on the iphone 4 slow down the phone's performance a bit.

When I was swiping through the APP store and opening and closing apps, the phone was lagging all the way.

I don't know if it is the phone's problem or is it the O.S that is causing the issue.

You'll be advised to restore as a new iphone.

My 2 y/o iPhone4 was running great until iOS6. After that it was crap.

Was glad to get i5! :)

Hm, this is interesting. I don't have an iPhone 4 to test this with but some have reported iOS 6 being faster than 5.1.1 on the i4. Sorry to hear you're finding it sluggish.

My wife has a 4 with iOS6 - runs fine - at least as fast as 5.1.1 - on Verizon here in Southern California

My 4 on iOS6 works as nimbly as on ios5. I was going to go for the 5, but just might wait it out another generation for a 6, so I put mine on Straight Talk and cut my present monthly bill in half.

The iPhone 4 is indeed a bit slow. Not horribly slow, but you can definitely feel pauses here and there.

The complete elimination of the pauses is one of the things I love most about the iPhone 5, even above the taller screen and LTE.
