Iphone 4 speaker won't play when listening to music.. and home button broken

1) Sound won't play when using ipod, games, etc, when will play when on a speakerphone call. Ideas on how to fix???

2) home button is broken, is this a hard fix? I'm handy, but need to know.

How did you break these components, did u drop the phone?

1. Plug the charger into your iPhone (It doesn't need to be on, just put it in)
2. Push in as if you were pushing the charger closer to the home button
3. Push the charger up, while in and press the home button.

wow, thank you. I have never seen this solution and it worked right off the bat! I have been cleaning my jack with a q-tip, blowing on it, doing the re-insert headphones etc for the past 2 hours... bammo this worked. thanks!

You can also get a home button on screen by turning on assistive touch on settings/general/accessibility/assistive touch on

What's odd is while this fixes the problem, if I adjust the volume via the side buttons, the problem returns...

How handy are you? I bought a $5 replacement home button on eBay and put it in myself, works like brand new again. It really isn't hard to take apart and put together the phone! Just tiny screws!

Is that what the problem is? My home button works perfectly fine. Sorry just a little slow this morning lol
