I know its paranoid but I need my phone on silent all day. It is jailbroken so I am wondering if there is a way to shut off the speaker so that even if somehow the iPod starts playing it won't sound. Thanks.

Put the phone on silent and go into the iPod app and slide the volume all the way down while something is playing.
