Hey all,

Got my first iPhone (4) last summer and love it.
However in the last month or so the power / sleep button has turned a bit "sticky". Not sure how to describe it really, but it needs to be pushed really hard for it to work.

Any way I can fix it myself, or would taking it into an Apple Store be the best option? (its a bit of a pain getting there though).

Thanks

I had that same problem, and it was caused by an Apple bumper. If you don't have a bumper, or something else installed that might be interfering with the power button, take it to Apple

I did have a bumper, but I haven't used it in at least 2 months (if not more) because my headphones wouldn't fit through the hole.

WelshBluebird, what did you end up doing?
I got a bumper recently and it has ruined my power button!
I have to press it against a hard flat surface for it to function

Did you take it to Apple?
Did it go away?

Yeah, they're not gonna be too happy bout that. U can try a very slightly wet piece of fabric with a bit of soup and slightly tap it around.
