Used the iPhone 4 for about 10 days. Screen is perfect still (waiting for my screen protector to be shipped). However the "home button" has a minor scratch from my finger nail - only visible when you turn it to an angle though.

Does not bother me at all just thought to share this with all of you who might be like me debating about going naked this time around.

PS. I thought iPhone home button is the same material as the screen itself? Can someone confirm this?

My home button has a dozen little scratches all over it. The rest of the phone is perfect. I've been very careful with this phone. I also wonder what the home button is made of.. kind of frustrating but 11 more months until I get the new phone anyway I guess.

Hehe same

I was wondering if the home button scratch a fair gauge of screen glass quality.

Pretty sure the home button is made of the same plastic as all the other iphones so they get hairline scratches just as easily.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)

The horror.

I have a very small "U" shaped scratch on the back and small, non visible scratch on the front. I can only feel it. Well, can barely see it in just the right light.

Honestly... I have never looked at my iPhone 4 to check for tiny scratches of any kind, on the home button, the screen, the back or anywhere

I just use the damn thing

I upgrade yearly and sells my old phone yearly :).

Good condition phone is much easier to sell and I was hoping that I could save a few bucks and not use a screen protector. But looks like I have to once again use it

Remember a couple years back when high-style women's shoes were so skinny that some nincompoops had small toes removed so that they could wear the shoes comfortably? In this case, I'll have my fingernail removed for home button pushing.
