Alright, so I bought an iPhone from some guy who claimed it wouldn't turn on. Checked for water damage, broken hardware, and everything seems fine.
The problem is, when i try to restore to stock firmware, I'm receiving error 1600.
I made sure there were no gs.apple.com and I even tested out the website and received the Apple 404 page. Also, I've tried to throw the phone in pwned DFU mode, and using a custom firmware, but still no luck. Tried it with Cydia host, and tried it without Cydia host. Finally, after a bunch of random tries, i tried restoring, and it got halfway, then stopped. But the apple sign reappeared and I was able to just boot it up by holding home+power button. I thought my troubles were over, until it turned off randomly. Then i tried a fresh brand new stock restore (downloaded from itunes) and it went through and it finished the restore. However, the iPhone only worked for a few minutes then shut off. Then, what was weird was that when I reset it (home+power), the apple sign showed up but the background was flashing red. And then, it was stuck in DFU mode again.
I've tried sn0wbreeze and pwnage tool to kick it into DFU mode, but it keeps giving me error 1600. Also, when I try to use redsn0w, I keep getting USB communication error no matter what I try.
Anyone know how to solve this problem?
My guesses are the battery or charging port needs to be replaced, but I still need to kick it out of DFU mode!
