iphone 4 stuck on recovery mode?

i just got an iphone 4 and it was jailbroken and it was working fine (not unlocked yet) i was trying to unlock it and, well i hit the restore/update.
now the iphone 4 is stuck on recovery mode (itune/usb and emergency call only.
i did the dfu mode and restore it again and it just went back to the same.
HELP PLEASE

If you havent already tried this, hold home and power at the same time. if i tunes see's your phone in recovery mode it will likely tell you to restore or something stupid, dont, hold home, and power until you see the apple, i know this is small and trivial and you have likely already tried it, but if you havent, it should do. Im a noob to iOS, from WinMo, and then android. So forgive the ignorance if im way off

i already tried this
every time i restore it i get error 9
it says iphone can not be restore at the end of the restore

i paid a guy and my iphone 4 is back to normal but it has
version 4.3.3
firmware 04.10.01
can i jailbrake/unlock this phone?
please any help would be good
