I have an iPhone 4, not sure what software it was on but it was jailbroken (using greenp0ison) on 4.0 something.

Yesterday I was using the tethering function and it crashed. After trying unsuccessfully to hard reset it, I put it in DFU mode.

Since then, it's bricked. When I plug it into the computer the apple logo shows up for a minute or two then goes away and the display goes dark.

When not plugged in it does nothing.

If I plug it in and then use the DFU button combination (home + sleep for 10 sec, release sleep and hold home till it connects), iTunes detects it and then asks to restore it. While restoring, it spends a while on "validating restore with apple" or something and then I get an error 1602.

Fixes I've tried:
I downloaded tinyumbrella, put it in DFU mode and tried to "fix recovery" but after the log says its finished, it says wait for phone to reboot, and my phone does nothing.

I also tried restoring it with HotSpot Shield activated, doesn't work.

However, if I have tinyumbrella up, put it in DFU, fix recovery, and then try to restore on iTunes (with hotspot shield running), I get an error 3914.

Any tips please? If it doesn't work I'll have to drive three hours to an apple store and three hours back tomorrow :( and my warranty has expired so I'll likely have to buy a replacement so I'd rather not.
