My iPhone suddently turned itself off and responded to nothing. The switch on button gave no reaction, and iTunes didn't recognize it when i plugged it in.

Only after half an hour or so, when i plugged it in the poweroutlet it suddenly came back to life

This is odd. Now everything seems to work fine again like nothing happened.

Anyone else has had this "problem"?

It happen sometime, I would say it is actually normal (unless it is happening to you ral often in that case take it to the apple store and get it exchange). This happen with many smartphone, screen or keyboard get "bug" and unresponsive so the phone doesn't get out of low power mode, or it just get stuck in a loop and until the watchdog reset the device it doesn't really come back.

if it happen again just hold down the home bottom + Lock/Wake Bottom until it reset.

Again if it happen often you may need to get it replace, but I can tell you that it does happen once in a while.
