Ok, so I have a factory unlocked iPhone 4 and I've enabled tethering in network settings. Tethering over bluetooth works great, but I cannot get tethering via USB working on this machine (15"MBP, 10.6.4) at all. I'm missing the network interface in System Preferences, and unplugging/replugging/rebooting doesn't seem to help. Another machine I have here running 10.6.4 works just fine with the same phone for USB tethering.. any ideas?

Got it sorted.. for whatever reason, apple's tethering kext is 32 bit only... I've been using the 64 bit kernel for a while; switched it back and all is peachy.. Cheers to an old post on the apple forums for illuminating this!
