iphone 4 to tv with apple rca cable

I used to be able to connect to the very old tv in my office with an rca cable and play videos that I own off the video app for a class I teach

Now-- I am unable to click on the video to make it play

Sometimes it pops to the itunes store.

Tonight-- it took me to Facebook ?!?

Any ideas on how to make this work?
