I don't know if this is a new setting or not, but I just stumbled across it.

In Settings >>> General >>> Accessibilty

All the way at the bottom you can customize a triple click shortcut. One of them being a white/black toggle that reverses the color scheme on the phone.

Seems pretty un-Apple like. The look it produces makes it look like it was jailbroken!

Sorry if this is old news, it's just something I thought I'd share.

Yeah, not shortcut to favorites really sucks.

In early betas you could double-click-and-hold the home button to trigger Phone Favorites, but this function doesn’t appear to have survive to the final release.

Yeah. A lot of people were pretty bummed about that. Perhaps Apple will fix it in a future .update. I would like to be able to choose how many clicks do what.

The lack of customization on the iPhone is pretty much my only complaint (at this point, after seeing how sweet iOS4 is running on an iPhone 4). However, if I have to sacrifice my multiple click options or my custom SMS tones to have something that works this well, this fast- then so be it.
