iPhone 4 unlock possible?

Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum (and apple to be totally honest).

The only apple products that I have every bought were a nano a number of years ago, iPad 1 and the new iPad.

Never needed to jailbreak or unlock any of those devices for my uses.

However, I my uncle bought a used iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 and he is driving me crazy to have it unlocked so that he can use it in Denmark.

I did a number of searchs here and on the web as well as asked friends and the answers are all over the place. Some say it cannot be done, other that it can partially be done, and other say it can be done no problem.

I don't Redsn0w or things of that nature.

For now, just need to know if it's possible.

Noticed that I need that too. Will check it.

I guess it needs to be lower than 04.10.01?

Then there is a chance of it being possible to unlock?

If its on stock 5.0.1 then it cannot be unlocked.
Find out the bb to be 100%.

Checked after work yesterday. Bb was 4.11.......(forgot the last set).

So, 100% that it cannot be unlocked right?

What about the new Gevey Chip that unlocks 4s 5.0.1 Firmwares as well. Is gevey working on the iPhone 4's unlock?

You might contact Applenberry to see what, if any, progress they claim for iPhone4 basebands

Concrete answer is there is no unlock option right now.
Down the road maybe, who knows.
At the moment there's nothing you can get to unlock it.

No, that Gevey is for the 4S only.
Different baseband chips and unlock method.

My personal opinion is that they cannot figure it out since it has been 6 months now.

Offcourse they're working on it, if they figure it out they will make tons of money selling them but like you said since it's taking forever I wouldnt hold my breath
