The Evildrome Boozerama
The God of Frustration (who looks a lot like Daffy Duck) is hitting me hard these days.

I finally managed to jailbreak my iPhone 4, install Cydia, install various versions of ultrasn0w, get a microSIM card, had my old T-Mobile prepaid number transferred to the new microSIM...

...and I still can't get it to work! Every instruction I have seen says "Go to Setting -> General -> Network.." and enter in the strings of numbers, etc.

My problem is: under General, there is no Network tab! "Cellular," yes, but that just deals with Cellular Data and enable 3G. Under my About tab, the Network tab says Not Available.

iTunes isn't even letting me sync the iPhone because the SIM card is not supported!

What the hell am I doing wrong?

A few bucks on eBay. Are you from the US? If the phone was purchased after Jan. 26th, 2013, it's illegal to factory unlock now, but if before, you're fine.

Yep, wish it was as simple as just jb and install ultrasnow.
Ultrasnow only unlocks baseband version 01.59.00 for the i4
Go to settings, general, about and see what your modem firmware version is.
If its not the one I listed above your only option is to purchase an imei unlock.
It's only $2-3 for an AT&T iPhone unlock. I'd go with that if I was you.
