Hi everyone,

I will be in LA whilst the iPhone is released. I would like to purchase this little beaut seeing as I am currently stuck with the original iPhone after 'downgrading' to O2 iPhone Simplicity.

My question is, if I purchased the phone in LA, if I can get my hands on one anyway, would it be simlocked to AT&T in the States, and consequently stop me putting my what would have to be my home made O2 microsim in?

I'm guessing the answer will be yes, which would be truly annoying.

You could only buy it in the US if signing up to a 2 year contract with AT&T - they don't do PAYG for the iPhone.

O2 have said they will have a limited time offer for current customers wanting to upgrade - they will have more information about it on their iPhone 4 page.

However, AT&T offer a no compulsory thing, but you need a voice and data plan with it in the USA.
