Lately I notice my iPhone 4 hasn't vibrate when receiving text messages. Flipping the silent switch into the silent position doesn't cause the phone to vibrate like it used to. The phone has only been dropped once but it was some time ago, so I don't see it being related. Is there anything I can do, or is my best bet just making a Genius Bar appointment?

Settings > Sound > Vibrate.
Might have changed. Different settings when in and not in silence mode.
For instance, my iPhone 3G Vibrates when not in silent mode, and doesn't vibrate in silent mode.
