iPhone 4 Voicemail Speaker Issue

For some reason, I am unable to listen to my custom voicemail message through the ear piece. I am only able to listen to my custom voicemail message from the speaker. I have made sure the speaker is not set prior to listening to the message.

I was wondering if anyone else was having the same problem.
