I'm having a strange issue with the volume of my iPhone 4 when it's connected to my car's radio via a car dock (uses the 30-pin connector to my BMW stock radio's AUX input). Here's the issue:

- When playing music from the iPhone in iPod mode, the volume is much lower than FM radio and even significantly lower than music from other iPhone apps, such as Pandora.

- While the issue presents itself roughly 75% of the time, sometimes I am able to get significantly louder sound from iPod content, though I don't know why. It usually happens when removing the iPhone from the cradle and putting it back in, or starting and stopping playback.

Both of the above suggest to me that the issue is some setting with the iPod app. But I'm lost from there...

Any idea what I can do to get "normal"-volume playback?

Thanks for any suggestions!
