iPhone 4 (vzw) turns off and won't turn back on

My iPhone 4 turns off randomly then won't turn back on until I connect it to a power source (computer or wall). There is no response when I hold down the hold+home buttons, no matter the time.

Any suggestions? I'm installing the OS now to see if that helps
