Yep.. It already happened. I'm on standby at the Apple Store.. What are my options. Could be waiting for two hours..

Bad Day.

Did you purchase it using an Amex card or equivalent with accidental damage protection? If so, file a claim with them for $199, making it free.

Good call. It was on my CC but not an Amex. I'll give them a call and check it out.

If no insurance or iPhone protection, the $199 replacement is not a bad option. Sorry man.

You're not going to believe this.. the Genius gave me a brand new iPhone 4 for free. I was upfront with him and told him I'd drowned it in water and that I could literally pour water out of bottom ports.

Reason #428 why I love this company.

Wow! You got super lucky! The genii are always real jerks to me. I had the cracking issue for my 3GS and he asked memif I chewed on my phone and he wouldn't replace it.

The moral of your experience was the fact that you were upfront and honest to the Genius. :)

Wow, thats awesome. How did the conversation with the genius go? Obviously you were upfront about what happened. What led him to give you a free replacement instead of making $200 off of you?
