iPhone 4 without Data (Verizon)

I currently have a plan with Verizon for a basic phone with unlimited texting and 750 minutes of calling. Can I use the "switch device" to activate a used iPhone i bought off of Amazon without having to add a data plan?

Verizon will know it's an iPhone which requires a data plan/feature and will require you to add one before the switch can be completed.

I figured they would...thanks for the info. I might still try to switch it and see if I can get by with it (you never know) but I'm not looking to pay for data

My cousin is using my old iPhone 4 without internet somehow. She's on VZW also, but I think the only reason why she's not using internet is because she's always going over her 2gb limit? I'm not exactly sure, I'll ask and get back to you. I should note that she's also on prepaid.

Prepaid is different.
You can get away without a data plan on prepaid.
Not on post paid monthly accounts though.
