iPhone 4 running 4.3
Macbook Pro completely up to date
iTunes running 10.2.1

I plugged it one time this morning, went to iPhoto's but half my photos were missing? So I pulled out the cord, and plugged back in, and now iTunes won't bring the phone up on the side bar, nor does the phone start a "Syncing" screen... but still charges. I've reset the phone and computer both twice.

Did you un-mount/eject the phone in iPhoto, before unplugging? If you didn't, that is a very good way to corrupt the data on the phone. Same goes for iTunes. Make sure that the sync cable is good and the dock connector is free from anything that would prevent a good connection. If you have another computer, that would be an easy way to tell if the problem is with your phone or iTunes.
