Hello i gifted my girlfriend an old att iphone 4, dusted it, updates it, and she used it for all of 2 weeks before it broke, it wont turn on, she took it to a repair shop and the guy there said it was broken because i give her a chinese knock off cable and it broke the plaque of the iphone the black peace under the battery. He said everything alse was fine he wants 60-70 for the repair and piece i don't think is worth it, i seen a peace similar in amazon for 6 dollars and i have changed iphone batteries before!

What is the black peace under the battery what is it called?
does it sound right what he said about the charger cable? or is he making it up?
should i pay the 60-70 or try myself for that particular piece is it hard to replace?
