With speculation that the iPhone 4G which is expected to be announced at WWDC on the 7th, and that it will be released this month as well, I am wondering what firmware the device will ship with? If iPhone OS4 won't be released until about mid summer, won't this delay the release of the new iPhone hardware? Or will the current firmware be modified to accomidate for the new hardware?

Current firmware will be absolute. 4.0 will take over.
