Hi,
Does anyone know if there will be an iPhone 4GS and if so, when do you think it would be likely to come out?
I'm trying to decide whether to buy now or wait...

Suggestion: Buy now or wait a year. You're not going to see an update to the 4th version of the iPhone until WWDC 2011.

Original iPhone: June 2007
iPhone 3G: June 2008
iPhone 3GS: June 2009
iPhone 4: June 2010

What, iPhone 4 not good enough? ;)

4GS doesn't exactly tie in with their naming convention at the moment. If the current iPhone operated on a 4G network, then it could be said that the next one could possibly be the iPhone 4GS.

In any case, I'm assuming you're referring to the next iPhone release. Historically, Apple have released their iPhones in the middle of the year, so we can expect a new iPhone in June/July next year.

wait now and you will be waiting again and again and again..life is short nor promise you a tomorrow enjoy now or never enjoy..thats life:D
 
The other thing to consider is that, in terms of day-to-day use, the 3GS is already pretty darn fast, and the 4 looks to be even faster. It's not so much like the original and 3G, where there was palpable room for improvement in terms of speed. Existing phones are pretty responsive as is.

Thats true actually, me being me, I always want the most updated, so I like to wait until new models come out, but if theres a new one per year then I guess i'll never get one if I act like I usually do.

I might get the 4, then replace when they release the 5 ;)

It's hard to comprehend somebody anticipating a 4GS, whenthe 4G hasn't even come out for pre-order yet!

haha. um pattern what pattern.. :p

I wonder what they will think of next year to put in the phone :( hopefully not just speed bumps.. wonder when apple will come out with the have your iphone implanted in your brain and use your eyes as a screen :) we can only hope. accept I do hope they change the rings tones. I really do not want a old phone ringing in my head :(
 
If the next iphone carries a 4G network I think it will likely be called just that - iPhone 4G (to differentiate it from iPhone 4).
 
It'll probably 4 or something. I know all the current 3G owners who can't get the 4 are salivating just wanting to talk about how nice it's gonna be :D
 
Considering that there's not even an iPhone 4G yet, don't hold your breath. There will be an update next summer, not before.
