iPhone 4S / 4s - Just a quick question about packaging!

Just a quick question : ) !!!

I have been told that the iPhone 4S had
(for some reason) two versions. The first
one was the '4S', with the 'S' written in
upper case letters, and the second version
and more recent one written in lower case
letters as '4s'.

My question is, is that also reflected on the
packaging? (So, for example, '4S' iPhones
from early 2011 showed the upper case
letter and the ones from September 2013
until September 2014 showed the '4s' with
the lower case letter)

I bought an iPhone 4s last night. It is still
unpacked. At the store where I bought it
the sales person had the '4s' as well as other
iPhones on display. The sales person gave
me a slip that read 'iPhone 4S', the 'S' wri-
tten in upper case. I asked her if on the
box the 's' was written in lower case and
she said yes! She said the newer iPhone '4s'
had a lower case 's' on the packaging. I
took the slip to one of the cash registers.
I paid the phone and took it home. I did
not look at the packaging until I got home
and there I realized I was given the phone
with the upper case 'S'.

The latest 4S come with 8GB, the previous ones came with 16 32 or 64 GB,

the big S must be for bigger ram and bigger price

The 'S' nomenclature has always been upper case.

Just look at any Apple support documentation when they say which devices are supported. Not one has a separate 4S and 4s instance, only 4S.

The case is interchanged online based upon either laziness or people don't care, but there is no device with the lower case 's'.

Yes, the iPhone they sold me has only 8 GB, that is right!

On the unopenned package, however, it is written iPhone '4S'
with upper case letters!

I'm guessing the sales person wasn't an Apple employee.

Hi,

You are right! The person was not an apple sales rep and this person represented mildly the phone company. Mildly, because the person
didn't know a lot of info about calling plans or options of the
represented company.
