I was excited to see that AirPlay mirroring is coming to the iPhone 4S. They presented it as though it were "like it is for the iPad," but they only demonstrated its use during gameplay.

I'm wondering if it will mirror everything you do, including the home screen/web browser/etc (like the iPad does on iOS 5), or just in certain applications. The former would be terrific, I think. Anybody have any sense?

it mirrors everything, the whole screen, same as iPad 2.

Is this an iOS 5 thing, or an iPhone 4S specific thing? I would like to be able to do it with my iPhone 4.

I'm curious too, because I don't think the iPhone 4 or iPad 1 had the capability to mirror everything, even on the iOS5 beta.

From what I understand it requires a particular kind of hardware video encoding to work- which is why it is iPad 2 / iPhone 4S (A5) specific.
