iPhone 4S AirPlay to ATV2 text interruptions

Using airplay to do mirror streaming from iPhone 4s to my ATV2. I can put on Do Not Disturb to keep calls from coming in, but is there any way to stop texts. They only appear at the top of the screen, but are still annoying.
