Hey, I never ever went to AppleCare for my iPhone 4S and since it's running out is it possible to get my battery replaced by Apple for it before it runs out? I feel like it's not as long as it's used to but it's not like it's dying in 3 hours.

If it's not dying in 3 hours they are very unlikely to replace it for free, especially since it's 2 years old. But you can trade for a perfect condition, brand new battery 4S for $49 with your warranty - not bad!

Only if it's AppleCare plus.

They will only replace the battery if is holding less than 50% capacity.

Actually, its anytime the battery is below 80% of the original capacity. The genius explained the diagnostics last time i got my phone serviced. theres a pretty cool graph they get that shows charge cycles and stuff.

$29 on iFixit and about 5 minutes of your time will get your 4S a new battery.

I went ahead and got a fresh battery for my 2 year-old iPhone 4S before I gave it to my wife.
