Apologies if this has been answered before, but I couldn't find an answer doing a couple of quick searches.

I've had my 4S since November 2011, and I use it fairly heavily. Compared to the 4, battery life wasn't that great, but I would just charge it frequently. I'm currently running iOS 6.1. I realize that battery life is dependent on many variables, but it does seem to me over the past couple of months that I have to charge the phone more frequently than before. It's often enough that I'd be more than happy to pay Apple to replace the battery if it would help. I really love this phone and may just wait until the iPhone 6 before upgrading.

Is there any way to really know whether your battery is nearing the end of its life - e.g., number of charge cycles? (Mine goes up to 100% each time I charge, FWIW.) If charged regularly (i.e., twice a day, otherwise it would fully drain), is there an expected lifespan for these batteries?

Finally - Does anyone have any experience with how long Apple takes to replace a 4S battery? Can they do it at the Genius Bar? The Apple website indicates that you have to pay shipping, so I assume they send it somewhere, and you are out a phone while it's gone.

Many thanks in advance for your comments.
