Hi, I just wanted to know whether my 4S battery is functioning ok, i've had the phone since february 2013 but the previous owner had it since may 2012.

By the time the battery is at 20% i get on average around 6-7hrs usage time which is mainly pretty heavy whatsapp usage (push on) and internet browsing on wifi. I have siri, mobile data, auto time zone, location settings turned off and auto brightness on. I've noticed my phone doesn't discharge all the way to 0% but dies at 4/5%.

Are these usage times normal?

Thanks

If you getting 6-7 hr of good usage out of it is great but the iPhone dying at 4-5% is not normal. You could try to get a replacement for a fresh battery possibly.

Hmm., i've heard that re-calibrating the battery will sort that issue?

Thanks man, also wanted to ask is it ok if i do partial charges to like 50% during the day? I read somewhere this isnt good for the battery ..

Thats fine. Just one every 2-3 weeks run it dead and charge to 100%. But right now run it dead a few times so the battery/iPhone can calibrate itself.

Your very welcome, i am always here to help:)

Is it better to charge in airplane mode? I get a lot of whatsapp notifications overnight while charging and my phone gets very hot i don't know if this is bad for the battery.
