finally got a chance to look through the settings and found that my bluetooth was on for some reason (even tho the icon did not show by the battery). I turned it off hopefully that'll improve the battery life (lost 10% after a few phone calls & few emails in 6h - which isn't too bad)...
 
Can't respond directly to your question but, I always turn mine off. I've never used blue tooth on a phone. I turn it off just to make sure it doesn't use extra battery.

The 4s uses Bluetooth 4.0 so battery drain is not as much of as problem as it used to be. If you never use BT then you might as well turn it off. But for people who do, you should be able to leave it on all the time vs. toggling it off when not in use.
