Do you guys have any suggestions where I can purchase a used or refurbished iPhone 4S without a contract? I don't want to be locked into a contract with the prospect of a new phone coming out in the next 3-6 months.

FYI...I prefer to avoid CL and eBay. Thanks

Many forums (like this one) have a marketplace, but are often limited by the length of time and number of posts one has registered. I think macrumors has a 6 months after registering limitation. Other than forums, I really don't see a whole lot of options outside of ebay or CL.

Thanks but it seems like the MacRumors marketplace has been shut down for awhile now..

I purchased my iPhone 4 through Ebay a couple weeks ago and couldn't be happier with it. CL and Ebay are tricky markets to deal with since anybody can be a scam but you just need to know what to look for! I can't remember what other sites I was going to mention that sell them but I'll re-post here if I do.

How much was your 4?

Best bet is eBay or Craigslist.

I bought my first iPhone (to use on T-Mobile) off eBay and was very happy with the transaction. They included everything but the earbuds.

Unless it's a life or death issue, I'd wait for the upcoming new model. Patience is a character builder :)

I've seen quite a few rumors & indicators that it's likely a release is on it's way sooner rather than later. Just weeks away.

Even if that turns out to be wrong, it's sure to be released in much less than six months barring any extreme problems.

I want to buy an Iphone that is chepaer than buying new. I bought new Iphone and had problems with it and trying to get replacement from Apple was not good. Maybe someone can tell me where I can get a good buy without overpaying for new phone.
